A Famous Veteran Designer Returns To Work On Shenmue III [VIDEO]

Keiji Okayasu worked on the first Shenmue game already, and now he’s returning to work with his old partner.

Ys Net‘s game is mostly in silence during development, but the devs try their best to inform the Kickstarter backers about how Shenmue III shapes up to be a completed title. This time, they published an interview with Okayasu, reminiscing the past.

Okayasu was effectively one of the two directors alongside Yu Suzuki, and he also worked on the sequel before leaving SEGA AM2 (the game was in 70% completion then). The team published the game without him eventually in 2001.

As heard in the video, Okayasu will be responsible for things that make Shenmue a Shenmue game. The ambiance and the environment will be one of the key parts of his work.

Shenmue III should be out by the end of 2017 on PlayStation 4 and PC.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
