Ubisoft Is 2016’s Best-Selling Publisher… For Now

Ubisoft leads 2016 before the holiday season rush.

According to MCV, the NPD data shows that the French publisher has sold more games than its rivals. In Europe and Australia, Ubisoft has a 14.9 percent share, and in the United States and Canada, they have a 16 and 13 percent share of the market in 2016, respectively.

The Division is the best-selling title of the year at the moment, and Far Cry Primal also has a Top 10 spot. Rainbow Six Siege‘s player base grew by forty percent since its latest update as well.

The Division is Ubisoft’s biggest day one seller, setting a new Q1 sales benchmark and claiming the new IP sales record, so this game is performing well.

However, can Ubisoft keep the first place against Electronic Arts (Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2!), Bethesda (Dishonored 2, Skyrim: Special Edition), or Activision (Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare)?
