Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare – All The Details About The Beta

Activision finally revealed the details about Infinite Warfare‘s beta that will launch next week on PlayStation 4.

Black Ops III’s Specialists will be replaced by Combat Rigs in Infinite Warfare. Three mechs will appear in the beta – they are Warfighter, Merc, and Synaptic. We can mix-and-match the different Payloads and Traits to find our „sweet spot” combination.

In the beta, Mission Teams will also show up. If we complete certain tasks for our team, we can gain more levels to get calling cards, camos, emblems, and cosmetic items for the Rigs. Two out of the four teams will be available in the beta: JTF Wolverines, followed by the Orion Initiative later on.

The beta will offer three maps – Frontier, Frost, and Throwback. Quoting the official description:

  • Frontier – a circular, two-lane, fast-paced map, Frontier is a small section of a giant space station that is in orbit around the planet Neptune. The action is funneled down a long, central corridor with side paths offering an element of strategy and a constricted lower lane for players craving chaos.
  • Frost – a linear, three-lane, medium-paced map, Frost is a research facility set atop the icy surface of Jupiter’s moon Europa. Ample opportunities for vertical combat and rapid encounters around sleek modular elements highlight this frozen battleground.
  • Throwback – a bent, three-lane, medium-paced map, this throwback 1950’s ‘Main Street USA’ locale sits on a giant, rotating, torus-shaped space station. A large circular lane rings the perimeter, while a large center square with multiple avenues of approach and two opposing windows offers a wide range of engagement opportunities.

Four game modes will be playable – Infinity Ward will rotate them around. Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed needs no introduction. However, the new Defender does: we must get a drone and keep it away from the other team. It will reset itself after a while, allowing the other team to gain the opportunity, too.

The beta starts on October 14 on PlayStation 4, and October 21 on Xbox One at 10 AM PDT. It will end on October 28 at the same time. You must pre-order to participate.
