The Xbox One Could Get Xbox Backwards Compatibility

The PlayStation 4 might get an even larger disadvantage against the Xbox One when it comes to backward compatibility.

On Twitter, a fan asked about whether the Xbox One will be able to support the classic Xbox games or not. Phil Spencer, the Xbox-boss answered: „We haven’t ruled it out, but we aren’t working on it right now. I’d like to find the time to do it.”

This response doesn’t look like rejecting the idea altogether – in fact, Spencer himself seems to be willing to make the Xbox games run on the Xbox One (S), or the Project Scorpio later on.

Sony might be in trouble: you can only play PlayStation 3 games via PlayStation Now, and you must fork out money for a select few PlayStation 2 games with upscaled resolution and trophies, even if you own the original games on both platforms.

If Microsoft completes the X-X1 link, Sony will end up being two generations behind the 8 Ball in backward compatibility.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
