Batman: Arkham City – The PlayStation 4 vs. Xbox One Face-Off [VIDEO]

Batman: Return to Arkham is out, and DigitalFoundry analyzed both console’s port.

It turns out that both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One utilizes a dynamic resolution. On Sony‘s console, the minimum is 1600×1080, and on the Xbox One, it’s 1024×1080. In this comparison, the PlayStation 4 takes the victory, but we need to take a look at the frame rate, too.

Neither consoles have an FPS cap, which means Batman isn’t limited to thirty frames per second. Still, the PlayStation 4 wins here as well, thanks to the higher average FPS in Arkham City. The FPS goes around between 20 and 60, but while the PlayStation 4 has an average of 30-35, the Xbox One‘s numbers are lower.

Still, we have to ask something: what the heck is up with the 1024×1080 resolution on Microsoft’s console?
