Time Magazine publishes a list of the best inventions each year. Did Sony‘s virtual reality headset get onto this illustrious list?
Our answer is positive; according to Time, „in order to access the most cutting-edge virtual reality, people typically have to shell out thousands of dollars–not just for a headset (like the $800 HTC Vive), but for a computer that’s powerful enough to support it. Sony‘s PlayStation VR, by contrast, is designed to work with a console that millions of people already own: the PlayStation 4.” This quote shows how Time appreciates easy-on-the-wallet solutions, and that description can be applied to the PlayStation VR without a doubt.
However, Sony still hasn’t released official sales figures of the PlayStation VR despite having been available for over a month by now. We can only guess how many headsets were sold since October 13 at the moment.
