Microsoft’s Dead Rising 4 Marketing Backfired!

Microsoft got into trouble with a Dead Rising 4 email.

It all started with a seemingly harmless email. In the message, we see a picture, where Frank West poses under an „All We Want For The Holidays” text. (Dead Rising 4 launches on December 6 on Xbox One and Windows 10.) This image isn’t the issue. The subject of the email is NNNNGGGHHHAAA!

If you pronounce this roar, you’d be close to saying the word „nigger,” which is a racist slur towards people with darker, black skins. Major Nelson had to apologize because of Microsoft’s slip up: Today we sent a DR4 email where a zombie roar was interpreted by many as a racial slur. We apologize and promise to do better next time.”

First off, people are perhaps too sensitive, and second, Microsoft should have used something like RRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWRRR, because that’s something that you can’t misinterpret!

And here’s Hryb’s tweet:

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
