Europe Might Not Get The New Zelda As A Launch Title

Our continent might get left out of the party.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild, which is in development for Wii U and Nintendo‘s new hope, Switch, is getting pushed around in the release schedule: one time we hear about it as a launch title, only to hear reports of Link’s new adventures being pushed towards the summer. Eurogamer entered the fray with details, not in favour of the European continent.

They say that Breath of the Wild will indeed be a launch title… in North America and Japan. What about Europe? Well, we might receive the game later, as Nintendo of Europe wants more time to test the game and apply localisation to the new Zelda title. Meanwhile, the local, Japanese arm of Nintendo has always considered Breath of the Wild as a launch game.

With Nintendo‘s consoles, it took several months from the NES to the GameCube to see them released officially in Europe. With the Wii and Wii U, it was just a month at worst. Are we going back to this delay, but with games? Déjavu…
