The PlayStation VR Also Gets A New Firmware!

Sony’s virtual reality headset gets a new system update, the 2.40 as well.

We already predicted to see the PlayStation VR get a new firmware, as we mentioned in our – quite detailed – 4.50 PlayStation 4 update article (here) that the PSVR will be capable of producing stereoscopic 3D with supporting 3D Blu-ray discs. There’s something else, though.

The beta test (as it seems to be another massive update, which means the new firmware doesn’t show up out of anywhere) had reported with users saying the 3D experience doesn’t seem to be much better, but it may be because of the choice of discs used. The Cinema mode seems to be improved, but on the other hand, there’s also a bug. The screen might not be centered, which means you would either have to press the Options button or recalibrate your headset altogether.

There’s no official changelog yet, and we still haven’t seen any official sales data yet either…
