For Honor: No Exceptions! [VIDEO]

Ubisoft‘s statement will have an effect on everyone.

The French company has issued a statement saying that nobody will receive the final code of For Honor before its release date. It means that before February 14, nobody will be able to hop in and begin working on a review of the game.

The reasoning? The open beta, which will happen between February 9 and February 12 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, will hog the server capacities. (It still doesn’t explain why the press can’t begin playing one day before launch, from the 13th…)

A little positive in the cloud of negativity is that reviewers can pre-load the game on all three platforms, but without servers, there’s not much point to doing so anyway – people can begin playing at midnight, but that’s it.

Ubisoft has done something similar with The Division a year ago. Therefore, we wouldn’t be surprised if the servers wouldn’t work on February 14 as they normally should…

Oh well, until then, have a look at DigitalFoundry’s comparison between the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 4 Pro version. On the stronger console, a 1440p resolution, better shadows, and a stable 30 frames per second frame rate describe the battle of the Knights, the Samurais, and the Vikings.
