Sonic Mania: Green Hill Zone Act 2 Is Just How We’d Have Liked It In The Past [VIDEO]

The retro Sonic game needs just two minutes to ring those bells for those who played the franchise’s games in the 16-bit era.

Two Sonic games are in development – one of them is Sonic Mania, which is going to be a two-dimensional, sidescrolling adventure, providing mostly what we liked in the past on the SEGA MegaDrive/Genesis. Green Hill Zone needs no introduction: it was the first zone in the first Sonic game, and its music has become a classic tune that many people would recognize even today.

The audiovisuals seem like a direct transition from that era to the modern platforms, but there’s also a 60 FPS frame rate, as well as three playable characters, not to mention the new enemies and bosses. If you want to respect your past, this is how you should do it.

Sonic Mania is launching later this Spring on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
