Goodbye, Battle.net and thanks for the parties!

We will not see this name anymore.

Still, we’re probably all going to call Blizzard’s game launcher Battle.net, which received a facelift just the other day. Since then, you can’t see that good old logo in the top left corner – it was replaced by Blizzard’s logo. We have expected this move to happen for a while, as Blizzard has announced last September that they will slowly drive out this branding from their products to have all their services available under one umbrella, regardless of you playing Overwatch, World of Warcraft, or Starcraft. The company stated that there was no longer a reason to maintain a separate identity for the service.

Battle.net has lived for twenty years – it first showed up in December 1996 along Diablo, as a chat and multiplayer matchmaking service. Thanks for all the good memories.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
