Diego Maradona Sues Konami!

The Argentinian ex-football star is going to court with Konami.

Recently, a lot of popular people consider their face as a logo, which cannot be used without legal permission, and if someone ends up making their character in something like a game, the events usually continue in the court. Diego Maradona found out that Konami has made his character as a playable football player in Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 without him knowing about it, according to Segmentnext and the NeoGAF forums. He wrote about it on Facebook, saying that his lawyer (who says that Konami has no permission) is already working on the lawsuit while hoping that „it’s not another scam…”

Konami might have indeed made his character without permission, as the PES series tend to lack all major licenses, even though the 2017 installment is a nice one on the PS4 at least… the PC port is an awful, awkward, outdated hybrid PS3-ish port.
