Kickstarter: Ten Thousand!

Kickstarter, a website known for its crowdfunding, is celebrating a round figure.

What do we mean by this ten thousand? Well, if you have a look at the site’s statistics, you can see that up to now, 10223 games were successfully funded. If we look at everything on Kickstarter, over 122 thousand projects got the green light since the 2009 launch of the website.

According to their blogpost, at least 2.46 million people have backed a game, giving out 613 million dollars total. That’s roughly 250 dollars per user average, which is not bad. Out of 2.46, 1.45 million people have financed more than one game.

The first game on the site showed up one day after the launch; it got 2265 dollars by 163 backers.

76 games have received over a million dollars, one over the Technology category with its 75 items. The most financed game is Shenmue III with 6.3 million dollars, but we do have to mention Star Citizen as well. While it got 2.1 million on Kickstarter, on its custom website, the game has received 146 million (!!!) dollars up to now.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
