PaRappa The Rapper Remastered: We Need More Ads Like This One [VIDEO]

Sony is doing a parody of a genre, as well as making fun of itself…

Yesterday, PaRappa The Rapper Remastered launched on the PlayStation Store, which means that the rapping dog has moved from the PS1 to the current generation, having a lot of positive memories surface again. (Although there seems to be a bit of input lag, as well as the fact that the cutscenes are just sloppily lifted over from the PS1…) Still, Sony has made a video that pretty much parodies the music documentary genre.

The Japanese company also seems to have a kick at itself, going by the Twitter comment: „He was everywhere, and then one day he just… vanished,” which is reasonable. PaRappa showed up once on the PS2, then in the PS3 game PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale, which was mostly a clone of Super Smash Bros., and that’s it.

Congratulations, Sony, this type of marketing can take you far. I gotta believe!!!
