Star Wars Experiences For Disney’s New Headset! [VIDEO]

Disney isn’t making a VR-headset, but an AR one!

Augmented realityDisney tries to enter this market/genre. They announced at the D23 Expo that they are working together with Lenovo on creating a new headset which has mainly Star Wars experiences in its focus while creating it. (As Disney owns the Star Wars license, it’s understandable. They also own Marvel, too.) In Star Wars: Jedi Challenges, we can expect holo-chess and lightsabers, going by the sneak peek video below.

We don’t know yet when the AR headset will launch, but you may find some developments over the next few months on this website. Disney/Lenovo isn’t alone, by the way: Apple will launch its development kit, called ARKit, shortly.

Is augmented reality becoming the new fad after virtual reality?
