The family of PlayStation 4 controllers expands.
This time, Sony didn’t announce an expensive, button-packed solution. Instead, the company revealed a cheap, smaller controller. This NES-style gamepad is manufactured by Hori, and it is called Mini Gamepad.
It cannot be used wirelessly, but it comes with a 10-foot (~3m) cable, and what makes it a good choice for children, it’s forty percent smaller than a regular DualShock 4! The vibration and the touchpad are both gone, although you can do some of the touchpad’s functions with the two analog sticks. The Mini Gamepad costs30 USD/40 CAD, and it is only announced for North America at the moment by the end of 2017. The pricing is promising.
Sony announced a new DualShock 4 color, too: the Sunset Orange controller comes with dark purple buttons, and it will be available from November 14 in Australia and Europe (except the UK, Ireland, France, Poland, Russia, the Middle East, and Africa). The Australian price is 100 dollars. European pricing isn’t known at the moment.
