Virtual Reality Has Its First Casualty!

It might be the first time we ever heard that someone died via virtual reality.

The biggest Russian news agency, TASS reports that a 44-year-old Russian man died while wearing a virtual reality headset. His death was caused indirectly by VR: he was wearing a headset, and he tripped over a glass table. The injuries caused by the incident, as well as the loss of blood, were the reasons of his death on the spot, according to Yulia Ivanova, the Senior Assistant to the Head of the Russian Investigative Committee’s Main Moscow Department.

Unfortunately, the report does not go more into detail than that – we don’t know what type of headset he was using, or what he was doing with it either.

Rest in peace.

She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
