Project Borealis: If Valve Doesn’t Do It, Then Fans Will!

Valve and the dislike of the number three.

Back in August, we wrote about how Marc Laidlaw, an ex-Valve writer, has published the plot synopsis of Half-Life 2: Episode 3 (with distorted names that quickly got corrected by the fans). A developer team announced on Reddit that their adaptation of the story is halfway complete, and the development is progressing well.

Yes, development: Project Borealis is meant to be the unofficial Episode 3, and the AI, player movement, and the weapon functionality are all working (although they still require testing). They revealed more 3D model and concept art in the post, and they even uploaded a few new tracks from the background music as well to Soundcloud. We can expect more details in 2018.

The project looks hopeful… let’s hope Valve doesn’t shut it down.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
