Fortnite: Server Issues Due To The Meltdown Vulnerability [VIDEO]

The processor vulnerability, which surfaced in the past few days, can affect games!

Meltdown (and Spectre) are vulnerabilities in Intel processors made after 2011, and there’s a chance that AMD is involved as well. These vulnerabilities can allow unauthorized access to our data without our anti-virus software noticing it. Wired reports that a hotfix is now available for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux platforms, as well as for the Chrome and Firefox browsers. How is this issue related to Fortnite?

On Twitter, Epic Games wrote the following: „Our cloud services were affected by updates required to mitigate the Meltdown vulnerability. We rely on cloud services to run our backend, and we may experience further service issues in the next few days due to ongoing updates.” However, they did not discuss whether the console versions are affected or not…

A relaxing topic for the end: NellyGotBored, a YouTuber, forgot to record the game’s audio. The solution is creative: replace the sound effects with mouth noises – you can hear the result in the eleven-minute video below…
