NieR’s Creator Would Work On A New IP And King’s Knight

Yoko Taro revealed his dream projects.

DualShockers asked Yoko Taro (Drakengard, NieR) at PAX East: what would he like to work on. He replied that while he doesn’t have a strong motivation to create a new IP (intellectual property), at the moment, he would like to create one. He’s looking into the subject, but there’s always the chance that it might not become a game at the end of the day.

If he could choose any of Square Enix‘ IPs, Yoko Taro would also work on King’s Knight. This game launched in 1986 on Famicom and MSX, followed by NEC-PC8801 and Sharp X1 in 1987, and the NES in the US in 1989, respectively. It was a combination of an action-RPG and a scrolling shooter.

It’d be interesting to see King’s Knight getting something new. After all, Taro previously said that he might end up making only failures in the next few years, so his ideas should be considered by Square Enix until „the iron is hot.”
