PlayStation 5: Will It Not Come That Early After All?

The next Sony console’s rumors are continuing to spread.

This time, a more reliable (and not a paywalled…) source showed up on the scene to talk about the next Sony platform. Kotaku shared their information based on several developers’ comments: before 2020, we shouldn’t expect the console to launch!

„Over the past month, I’ve spoken to dozens of game developers, across a variety of disciplines and studios, about the next generation of consoles. Of those, two people said they were directly familiar with plans for Sony’s new console. Those two people both told me that the next PlayStation is unlikely to release in 2019, let alone 2018, although they were careful to be clear that these plans are always shifting.

On a multi-year project, a lot can happen to shift schedules both forward and backward. At some point, Sony’s probably looked at every possible date. It’s all about what they think is the best sweet spot in terms of hardware,” Kotaku’s Jason Schreier wrote.

So it looks more likely that the next PlayStation should launch in late 2019 – with that step, both the ordinary PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 4 Pro would be on the market „on its own” for three years each…
