Overwatch 2? Blizzard says no for now

The studio prefers to continue improving and adding new content to the original video game.

In the middle of the special event dedicated to commemorating the second anniversary of Overwatch, Blizzard has made it clear that at this moment they do not think about a future Overwatch 2 but instead, keep updating and improving the original video game to keep their loyal community of players happy.

“The main thing, now that we are two years old, is that we have a successful action video game six vs. six that has made us realize how important the community is in responding so positively to our game,” commented one of the creatives behind Overwatch in an interview with Gamespot. “Our goal is to continue focused on keeping the community connected to a game that offers constant services and updates.”

“What people do not know is that the team we have now is much larger than the one we had when we launched the game, and that’s because we are always working on adding maps, heroes, and events,” say those responsible for the Diablo saga. “For some time, supporting Overwatch is our main goal now, and we are excited to continue working on a game like this.”

This statement of intent comes shortly after it was confirmed that Overwatch has more than 40 million players. In the last few hours, Blizzard has shared an infographic with interesting facts about the game.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
