[GC 2018] Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Won’t Be Shorter Than FromSoftware’s Recent Games

Compared to FromSoftware‘s two recent games, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice won’t be shorter.

Yasuhiro Kitao, FromSoftware‘s promotions and communications manager, told VG247 at Gamescom what the situation is with the game’s length: „We can’t give a specific number of hours right now, but we think in terms of game volume, it’s probably not going to be too different from our recent titles. Play-time is very nebulous; it varies from player to player with our old titles as well. Again with this game, regarding development scope and what we’re trying to create concerning the world and variety – it’s not going to differ too much.” Kitao means Bloodborne and Dark Souls III under the term „recent titles.”

According to HowLongToBeat, Bloodborne’s story needs 35 hours to complete, while Dark Souls III requires 32, respectively. Maxing both games out take 80/85 hours, and on average, both titles require roughly fifty hours to be done.

If Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, which launches on March 22 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, do take as many hours as Kitao thinks, we won’t be disappointed!

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
