The Next Ys Is In Development

Ys developer Falcom’s president has confirmed that they are working on the next instalment.

Toshihiro Kondo said the following to Actugaming, a French website: „Regarding the Ys series, we are working on a new game It will not be a remake but a brand new title. It will be about Adol, and it will be right after the events of Ys VIII. I hope you will look forward to it.”

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana was announced at Tokyo Game Show in 2014 before it was launched in 2016 (and let’s not go into the localization/platform dates separately, that’d take an entire paragraph!), and with Kondo’s comment, there’s a chance that history might repeat itself, and YS IX might be announced at TGS this year.

As Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia has announced that their PlayStation Lineup Tour will start on September 10 at 2:30 AM Pacific/5:30 AM Eastern, possibly including some titles aimed at a Western audience as well, we’ll find out shortly if Ys IX gets announced already or not.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
