Asterix & Obelix XXL 2: Details About The Remaster

Microids is performing a remaster on the 2006 PlayStation 2/PC game, Asterix & Obelix XXL 2: Mission: Las Vegum, and they revealed new details about it.

The game, which is already available on Steam, will give new textures and models to all characters and enemies, and the environments will also receive more modern textures and lighting. The game will have stores in all six regions, and they act as a skill tree: you can buy new skills here (two debuting skills will be Pantry and Cosmic Strike), but combos or techniques can also be acquired in the shops. You can also increase the HP bar during your adventure, regardless of your chosen difficulty level (easy, medium, hard).

There will also be challenges: your goal will be to defeat as many Romans as possible in your allotted time – each region has two challenges, making it a total of twelve. Reaching bronze is good for getting money, and achieving the gold rank will be a tough challenge, according to Microids‘ press release. The game will also contain collectables: postcards will be scattered in the levels, the shops will have 3D figures for sale, and there will also be a fast travel option to return to already completed areas for the sake of completion.

Asterix & Obelix XXL 2, which is an action-adventure game, will be out on November 29 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
