More Capcom Games Could Get A Cloud Version!

Resident Evil 7’s Cloud Version (which was exclusive to Japan on Nintendo Switch) wasn’t a significant success, but the Japanese company considers to take their future games to the cloud.

„While we did release a certain title supporting cloud gaming in the first half, this was done primarily for technological research purposes and did not have a significant impact on earnings. Based on the results of the research, we will internally consider further expansion into cloud gaming,” Capcom writes in its latest fiscal earnings report. They did not name the game, but it can only be Resident Evil 7. (The other recent example could be Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, which was another Japan-exclusive Switch-experiment).

We have seen other cloud expansions this year – from Electronic Arts, Project Atlas was revealed, while Ubisoft presented a browser (!) version of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, with the help of Google. And this is just the beginning – Microsoft has also revealed the xCloud…
