Psychonauts 2’s Development Reaches A Significant Milestone [VIDEO]

Double Fine is doubling down development on Psychonauts 2.

It’s been three years since Tim Schafer-led (ex-LucasArts) Double Fine has crowdfunded Psychonauts 2 on Fig to begin its development. In the newest video, we learn that the game’s development has hit the alpha status: everything that is planned to be included in the game is already present, but the product is still far from being completed. Also, the trailer made for The Game Awards is also mentioned, which means the video has a bit of behind the scenes approach, too.

The developer update video also introduces the Raz figure (the protagonist of Psychonauts 2) that certain donors of Psychonauts 2 will receive. Tim Schafer even joked about Raz showing up in the Nintendo Switch-exclusive Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which launched over two weeks ago, but seeing how Joker, the main character of Persona 5, will also be in the game as a DLC (even without P5 not being available on the Switch at the moment…), who knows?

Psychonauts 2 is planned to launch next year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux. The publisher should be Starbreeze, but they have some financial issues at the moment…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title.
