Resident Evil 2 Remake Sells Well!

In the United Kingdom, the history repeats itself…

In April 1998, Resident Evil 2‘s PS1 PAL version (50 Hz utility frequency, effectively meaning 50 frames per second, which is slower than the NTSC standard with its 60 Hz utility frequency…!) instantly brought Leon and Claire to the top of the physical game sales. They repeated this feat, even if the trend towards digital game purchases continues…

Capcom pulled off their biggest UK launch after January 2017, when they released Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. While Resident Evil 2 Remake didn’t sell as well in physical format as RE7 (-18%), it still can be considered a successful launch, especially how the remake debuted on the top of the charts. The PlayStation 4 version took 74% of the sales!

Last week’s first-place New Super Mario Bros. U (Nintendo Switch) fell to fourth place (-44% in sales), and Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown (PlayStation 4, Xbox One) also fell from second place to sixth (-51%).

The top ten of the charts are as follows: Resident Evil 2 Remake, Red Dead Redemption 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII, New Super Mario Bros. U, FIFA 19, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Grand Theft Auto V, Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy. The usual, it seems…

Capcom will likely publish official sales data of the survival horror game (available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC) shortly.
