John Romero Is Working On A Strategy Game?!

An interesting collaboration was born, and it involves Romero Games as well…

Doom, Quake, Jagged Alliance, Wizardry 8… just a few games that Romero Games‘ two leaders/founders, John and Brenda Romero, have worked on. Well, their team has signed an agreement with Paradox Interactive to work on a new strategy game, which will be based on a new intellectual property (IP). Don’t forget, Paradox has also recently announced Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, so we can now say that the publisher is trying to make significant steps forward…

The project already has a website, where you can also sign up for the newsletter to „find out more before E3” about this game, which thus seems to be all but confirmed to be revealed to the public in detail in June.

„We are thrilled to work with industry legends, Brenda and John Romero, whose games we’ve grown up playing ourselves and long admired. At Paradox Interactive, we’ve built a reputation for top-tier strategy games and we’re employing that expertise to help build something really special with the team at Romero Games,” Paradox Interactive‘s CEO, Ebba Ljungerud, said in a press release.

„This has been a project we’ve been wanting to work on for a long time, so it’s especially exciting that we’ll be partnering with Paradox Interactive to fully realize that dream. We can’t wait to tell everyone more, so make sure you watch this space,” Romero Games co-founder Brenda Romero added.

Now, all we can do is wait for further information, as there are no more details known at the moment. Perhaps we should sign up for the newsletter. (Perhaps not.)

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
