The Council’s Developers Are Working On A Vampire: The Masquerade Game!

Big Bad Wolf provided us with one of the biggest surprises last year: they have slightly reimagined and improved the episodic games’ formula with The Council, as it had an RPG-like character progression, a detailed dialogue system, and a historic setting (set in the late 1700s, it featured many countries’ leaders or to-be-leaders at the time, such as George Washington from the United States or Bonaparte Napoleon from France), being successful with it. Now, they are working on a new game.

Bigben Interactive announced that Big Bad Wolf is currently working on a „narrative RPG” in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe, which will be „inspired by the rules of the tabletop RPG.” Not bad: it means that if this game is out by the end of 2020, we might see no less than THREE games set in the World of Darkness, as Hardsuit Labs is working on Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, while Cyanide is making Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood, and both titles have been confirmed to come out next year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC!

Unfortunately, that’s all we know at the moment, as – according to Bigben Interactive’s statement – further information will only be revealed in Cologne, at Gamescom, but that is going to happen in late August. We’ll have to wait a quarter year until Bigben tells us more about Big Bad Wolf’s Vampire: The Masquerade. At least there’s a Twitter account already, which you can find here.

Gamescom will be held between August 21 and 24 in Cologne, Germany. We wonder, though: wouldn’t it have been more of a shocking announcement if Bigben revealed Big Bad Wolf’s next game out of the blue there?

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title.
