[E3 2019] Who Will Keanu Reeves Be In Cyberpunk 2077?

The Polish developers were serious: they really gave them all for the E3 presence with Cyberpunk 2077, which now also has a release date!

We already wrote about Cyberpunk 2077‘s new trailer and release date – you can read more by clicking here. We’ll instead move on to discuss Keanu Reeves and his involvement with the game. He got a pivotal role in it!

According to CD Projekt RED‘s official description, he’ll be a „legendary rockerboy”, whose name is simply because he has a metallic silver arm. As he is a „key” character in the plot, we’ll likely meet him several times across the story. (In the original tabletop RPG called Cyberpunk 2020, Silverhand is a singer and guitarist who has seen better days.)

Reeves didn’t just give his likeliness and voice to Silverhand. He has also done a full motion capture for the character, which means Silverhand will speak and move just like Reeves, who seems to know what to do. It’s an exciting move by the Polish developers, and this involvement will likely generate hype around Cyberpunk 2077 as well.

„Wake the f**k up, Samurai, we have a city to burn,” Silverhand said in the E3 trailer. It is about time to wake up indeed. Or at least it’s time to set our alarm clock. Cyberpunk 2077 – if everything goes according to plan – will launch on April 16, 2020 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. (And us Europeans will likely get a physical PC version as well, unlike the North Americans. Hah, one up for us!)

However, as we wrote about it before, we wouldn’t rule out a next-gen Xbox (Xbox Scarlett, officially codenamed as such!) and PlayStation (PlayStation 5?) version either. Both consoles are likely launching in the 2020 holiday season.
