Guerrilla Games mourns Patrick Munnik, his chief producer

In this week of excitement and often of rejoicing for most of the actors of the environment, the studio Guerrilla Games regrets the regrettable loss of an important element of his team. The official account of the studio has just announced the death of its chief producer, Patrick Munnik.

Employed by the Amsterdam studio since January 2011, this graduate of the University of Applied Sciences was responsible for the coordination and supervision of all games at Guerrilla Games. He had started his career as a C ++ programmer in different industries before joining Guerrilla Games as lead producer in early 2011, working on additional content for Killzone 3, then on Killzone Shadow Fall and of course Horizon Zero Dawn, playing thus an important role in the transformation of the studio.

He had also spoken at the Rome Developers Conference in May 2018 to tell how the studio specializing in the FPS had to organize and develop in order to embark on a new license from a completely different genre. Patrick Munnik, who was about to turn 45 on June 29, leaves behind a wife and a son. “It is with great astonishment and sadness that we inform you that our chief producer Patrick Munnik is no longer with us, and we are eternally grateful to have had such a valued and appreciated person on our team” , paid tribute to Guerrilla Games.

Rest in peace!
