Why StarCraft Ghost Was Actually Cancelled?

We finally know the specific reasons…

Mike Morhaime, the former president and current adviser of Blizzard Entertainment, spoke clearly of everything they had in development at the same time.

In the last hours, Blizzard is being news more by news concerning its aborted projects. Mike Morhaime, is one of the speakers of the GameLab event taking place in Barcelona. He has spoken about the reasons for cancellation long-missing StarCraft Ghost.

“At that time, World of Warcraft was exploding and we had been developing Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2 also at the same time,” recalls Morhaime. “We realized that there was no way in which we could cover all fronts, we could not develop an environment to bring forward something as ambitious as StarCraft Ghost successfully, because we could not bring the project with all the resources that it needed”.

“There were many things shared and connected between all these games. Let’s say, for example, WoW needed an artist of characters and StarCraft Ghost also needed an artist of characters. Which had priority”, says the former president of the company, one of the founders of Blizzard.” “When we cancelled that very project all its talented and creative team were available to provide the wit and work we needed for the rest of the products.” All this helped a lot to take them forward”.

These statements of Morhaime relate important which defended the company eight years as to the reasons for cancellation of StarCraft Ghost and, in turn, go hand in hand with the words of the former president yesterday when he explained the reasons why the Blizzard cancels so many video games.
