The Third Ni No Kuni Game Is In Development

Level-5‘s outstanding JRPG series, Ni No Kuni with its solid visuals are already heading to the third instalment.

Akihiro Hino, the president of Level-5, was interviewed by Nikkei (which was translated by DualShockers), revealing a few details about the company. First, let’s get through the information related to Ni No Kuni. The franchise is going to get an anime movie, which will launch in Japan in August. Studio Ghibli was not involved with it (they only helped with the first game). If you are interested, you can watch a trailer of it by clicking here. Then, Hino added that „sometimes” after the film, a new game is also going to come. There will be some Ni No Kuni in September, though, as that’s when the port of the first game will launch on the Nintendo Switch (720p/30FPS), as well as a Remaster on the PlayStation 4 (we had to differentiate the two, as they are not the same – the PS4 version will run on 1080p/60FPS, and there’s also 4K support, too). Let’s not even guess when the third game will come, and which platforms it will be available on. It’s likely a next-gen game. The franchise will also get an app, but we don’t know if it will be a game or not, but it means the iOS and the Android is in the scope for Level-5.

Their first game made for the Nintendo Switch from the start was Yo-kai Watch 4, which recently launched in Japan (and they might launch the Western version in 2020). Hino said that good quality is important for them, so they can delay a game if they think it is necessary, and Yo-kai Watch 4 was one of these games.

Level-5 is improving silently, and it shows.
