Blacksad: Under The Skin Is Delayed! [VIDEO]

Forget the initially planned and announced September 26 release date. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait an extra six month, as the investigator cat has received a significantly smaller delay.

Pendulo Studios and YS Interactive need more time to develop Blacksad: Under The Skin, as Microids, the publisher, announced that the launch date was pushed back to November 5. Let’s see the official explanation: „The team will use this extra time to polish the game with only one goal in mind: deliver the best possible experience to our players.” That sounds slightly worrying. We wonder: what can the two dev teams do in a single month?

„The 50s, New York City: Joe Dunn, owner of a boxing club, is found dead. Meanwhile, rising star Bobby Yale, due to take to the ring for the most important fight of his career, has mysteriously disappeared. Sonia Dunn, Joe’s daughter, takes over the gym and must deal with its financial woes. She hires private detective John Blacksad to investigate Yale’s disappearance.

With its anthropomorphic characters and its incredible 1950s feel, Blacksad: Under the Skin delivers all the eerily dark adventure of a detective novel, just like the eponymous comic book series. While embodying detective John Blacksad, players will have to conduct this adventure in their way. Depending on their decisions, players will influence the relationships between Blacksad and the other characters as well as the very end of the investigation,” reads Microids’ description of the game.

We also include the first chapter of the developer diary from last week (the series is called From Comic to Video Game), which makes sense, as we’re talking about a comic IP here. So Blacksad: Under The Skin‘s new release date is November 5, but the target platforms have not changed: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
