Ring Fit Adventure: Here’s The Nintendo Switch’s Mysterious New Fitness Game [VIDEO]

Wii Fit, seen on the Nintendo Wii, is effectively getting a sequel on the Nintendo Switch, Ring Fit Adventure – the big N has finally revealed the thing they have been teasing.

Ring Fit Adventure is going to be an adventure game where players can discover a fantasy world, and they’ll have to fight the enemies of said world as well. However, let’s add the fitness thought to the game, so you’ll have to move to succeed. Here’s when that weird accessory steps in. It is called Ring-Con (after Joy-Con), you’ll also get a leg strap. One Joy-Con has to be put into each accessory in Nintendo’s new craze. The Ring-Con is flexible, and it has electronic sensors to detect both the player’s movements, as well as the shapes being built into.

Ring Fit Adventure’s main adventure mode is getting the players moving, and you can both defend and attack during combat – squatting and stretching are a few of possibly many moves that Nintendo will expect us to perform. In Quick Play, you can perform quick workout sessions, where switching between players is strongly encouraged. With the Simple and Set modes, you can either focus on just the exercises or just the adventure. The Silent mode is good for those who want to perform at night (or maybe early in the morning – you may never know…) by using some quieter fitness routines.

Ring Fit Adventure is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch on October 18, complete with the Ring-Con and the leg strap. However, the price is not known at the moment, possibly because Nintendo is working on the increased pricing due to the new accessories. Still, it is a nice gesture towards Nintendo’s past with the Wii Fit.
