Diablo IV: More Characters, Next-Gen, Leaked Launch Window?

Until now, only three characters (Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid) were confirmed, but there’s a possibility that Diablo IV would launch with five. Also, the release window, as well as a next-gen release, might have leaked, too.

Back in July, someone leaked Diablo IV on Reddit, and most of their post ended up being legitimate information. Let’s see what he wrote in the summer: „I am one of the 1st people who have seen Diablo IV behind closed doors and I know many are eagerly waiting for the details and goodies on what’s the next big thing in the Diablo universe/franchise. I cannot give away my credentials or who I am other than the fact that Diablo IV was finally showcased to some of the employees at Blizzard. Take this for what it is, I don’t care if you believe it or not as I have nothing to gain from this. With that being said – this is what Diablo IV and what will be happening shortly.

Paladin, Barbarian, Sorcerer, Amazon, and Druid are planned for launch with more coming later. Blizzard wants people to feel like this is Diablo II all over again but in a completely new era of the franchise. Blizzard was also debating whether to include the Druid or Necromancer class at the launch of Diablo IV. Blizzard decided to put the Druid for the launch of Diablo IV and Necromancer for later since the Necromancer was released already for Diablo III,” quoting parts of the post from July!

There are a few more things that we mention: there will be no loading times except for the logging, a hundred players could be held on a server in case of a PvE, items could be traded up to the rare level, Blizzard considers Diablo IV as a reboot of the franchise, the soundtrack will follow what the first two games had, with a twist, they planned a Diablo II remaster, but they will instead include the fans’ requests in a new game, there will be combos, and there will also be crafting, too. Let’s quote the post again: „Diablo IV will be the new era for Diablo and will be a game as a service. New free content patches will come out that will add quality of life changes, new additions, items and so on. Paid expansions are also possible, but right now it’s still undecided and Blizzard won’t know until the game is launched and until they see if its successful or not. They do not want to announce anything that’s regarding paid content until they are 100% sure of their plans and what they will be adding next post-launch. Right now, the goal is to get the game ready playable demo for BlizzCon 2019 and of course all the marketing material as well. After that, it will be preparing for the beta in 2020 and then the release. The release is being debated between late 2020 or early 2021 depending on how things go, but as of now, it seems early 2021 is more likely. Will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5 [hold on, this guy called the console as such before it got officially confirmed – the ed.] and Project Scarlett.”

So Diablo IV could be available in less than 1.5 years, and it will not only be on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but also the PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Project Scarlett, which we predicted as well. The lack of loading times seems plausible on these two platforms…
