Assassin’s Creed Is Getting An Audio Drama

Audible and Ubisoft have teamed up to expand the nearly 1.5-decade-old Assassin’s Creed franchise with a new audio drama.

Hollywood Reporter writes about how the series won’t be getting just a new game next year, but an audio drama as well, called Assassin’s Creed: Gold. „Assassin’s Creed: Gold follows Aliyah Kahn, a card shark and hustler, who’s been dealt a rough hand in life. Surviving through her smarts and street scams, Aliyah struggles to get by until she loses big time to a mysterious older man, Gavin Banks. Her only option to repay Banks is to become an Assassin. During her training, Banks tells Aliyah of the centuries-old battle between the Assassins and Templars, imploring her to help him decode a secret message inscribed on an illegal form of currency during the Great Recoinage of 1696,” says the official plot description on Audible. [The Great Recoinage of 1696 was in the United Kingdom, when King William III tried to replace the badly worn coinage in circulation at that time – the ed.]

Assassin’s Creed: Gold‘s writer is Anthony De Col, the writer of Assassin’s Creed: Trial by Fire, a comic book series. The audio drama will feature Riz Ahmed (Star Wars: Rogue One), Anthony Head (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Danny Wallace (Assassin’s Creed Syndicate), and Tamara Lawrence (Corvidae).

„Assassin’s Creed has set the highest of bars in the world of gaming. Noted for their historical authenticity, world-building, characterization and storytelling, there could be no better universe to explore as an audio drama… Embracing the best of the game’s characters, sophisticated plotting and conspiracy-laden storylines, we couldn’t wait to dive deep into the machinations of this multi-layered universe,” says Steve Carsey, Audible UK’s director of original content.

Assasin’s Creed: Gold will debut on Audible on February 27, 2020.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
