Is Rockstar Teasing Grand Theft Auto VI’s Setting?

Rockstar Games is likely already working on Grand Theft Auto VI (which makes business sense: as there was high demand for V, it’s reasonable to supply the players with VI…), but now it seems the studio itself starts to tease its next possible game.

The next Grand Theft Auto is likely in development for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Project Scarlett (with the latter rumoured to have a stronger console codenamed Anaconda, and a weaker model with less RAM and no Blu-ray drive, Lockhart), and we have also heard that it could have a set of Vice City, as well as South America, in the 1980s, featuring the cocaine drug trades and cartels.

Now, Rockstar has posted a video, which we will not embed, as it mostly teases content related to the Diamond Casino, where you can spend real money. However, there’s an image that we will show of it.

In the video below, we see the Western part of the Earth, with the globe shown for less than a second. However, only South America seems to be fully lit, with the rest of the Americas barely visible. Even if it’s coincidental or not, Rockstar is possibly having a lot of fun, as Grand Theft Auto VI isn’t even officially announced, and its setting might not even involve South America, and they might even lead us away from the truth with this possible tease.

However, there are rumours that their next game is NOT going to be Grand Theft Auto VI, as we have heard a thing or two about Bully 2, which will not be renamed in Europe this time (as the first game’s original PS2 release was called Canis Canem Edit around here…). Still, whatever Rockstar is doing generates a ton of revenue, and we don’t see them release a new game annually either – let’s leave them developing.

(Still, a South American GTA with drug cartels would sound alright.)

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title.
