Will Sony Reveal The PlayStation 5 At CES 2020?

It seems Microsoft surprised Sony, who don’t want to leave the next-gen Xbox’ (named Xbox…) Xbox Series X model alone in the news.

So there hasn’t been a proper reveal of the PlayStation 5, although Sony started to reveal details about the console throughout the year. At The Game Awards, Microsoft came, and out of nowhere, they showed us the Xbox Series X, which ran as Project Scarlett until that day, leaving the door open for a weaker model, which has been rumoured a lot throughout 2019. It looks like Sony is going to retaliate as soon as possible (and not in February, at an alleged PlayStation meeting), not allowing Microsoft to stay in the limelight for several months.

„The future is coming. At CES 2020 Sony is unveiling a unique vision of the future, bringing creativity and technology together like never before, to unleash new sensations and emotion,” Sony‘s website reads, confirming their appearance at CES. This quote sounds like an announcement. It could mean the PlayStation 5 could be shown to the public. It could be the next PlayStation VR headset. (Or maybe they will reach the 8K resolution with their television arm? But what is the relation to creativity then? This is why we suspect a video game-related announcement.)

CES stands for the Consumer Electronics Show, which is held each January nowadays in the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada state within the US. It’s the first technological convention of the year, and we don’t have to wait much for it, as Sony’s press conference will start on January 6, at 5 PM PT. (Which in Europe would be January 7, 2 AM, or 1 AM in the UK.)

We’ll see shortly what Sony is about to reveal.
