Resident Evil 3 Remake: Where Are The Live Choices?

Resident Evil 3 Remake will not only skip out on including the Mercenaries minigame, but it will also not have the quick choices (as a reaction to some unexpected event) you have to make here and there.

These would include some replayability. In the original game, your first live choice was at the Raccoon City Police Department (RCPD), when you meet Nemesis the first time. His goal is to eliminate every S.T.A.R.S. member, and yes, Jill Valentine is part of this team. You get two choices. You either stay outside to fight Nemmy (which is an incredibly difficult fight early in the game!), but it would give you a decent drop if you defeat him (Eagle Parts A – you get the B Parts by defeating Nemesis again IN the RCPD; that pistol is decent). Or, you could escape into the RCPD, but that would mean you would also have to look for another S.T.A.R.S. card, as you can’t get it from Brad’s corpse outside.

Peter Fabiano, a producer at Capcom, told IGN that in the original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, the developers did not have much time, and they included these choices as a way to increase replayability. However, the Remake wants to tell us a coherent story, and that means there is no way they could include this feature, meaning we’ll get „one” story.

Resident Evil 3’s minimum system requirements have also arrived:

  • A 64-bit processor and operating system are required
  • Operating system: Windows 7, 8.1, or 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD FX-6300, or better
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon R7 260x, or better
  • VRAM: 2 GB
  • DirectX: DX11

…and they don’t say, but you’ll also need an Internet connection, as Capcom loves to use Denuvo, which does impact performance on older PCs.

Resident Evil 3 Remake, as well as the 4v1 asymmetric multiplayer, Resident Evil Resistance, will launch on April 3 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. There will also be a demo shortly, but probably not on PC to avoid data mining…
