Master Chief Out Of Nowhere: Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s Second Game Is Now On PC [VIDEO]

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary did not spend much time in beta…

Microsoft and 343 Industries announced on Steam that Halo: The Master Chief Collection‘s PC version got its second game. (The first one was Halo Reach. It got „completed.” in December.) It’s a surprise: until now, we predicted that Master Chief’s first game would spend a few months in beta, but we were wrong. You can find the game either on Microsoft Store and Steam.

Why is it Anniversary? The answer is simple: this version (or remake, if you prefer) was launched in 2011 on the Xbox 360, ten years after the original Xbox version, and it was developed by 343 Industries, Saber Interactive (The Witcher 3 Switch port!), and Certain Affinity. However, the X360 is an ignored console by today (it’s almost fifteen years old), so the game was then moved to the Xbox One, and then the PC got it as well.

„[…] Relive the spectacularly remastered edition of the original Halo campaign, created in celebration of the 10th anniversary of one of the most beloved franchises in gaming history. After crash-landing on a mysterious ringworld known as Halo, the Master Chief is tasked with helping the remaining humans survive against the overwhelming Covenant forces. While doing so, he and Cortana uncover Halo’s dark secret and fight to protect all life in the galaxy.

[…] Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is now optimized for PC and looking better than ever at up to 4K UHD and at 60-plus frames per second. Other PC native settings include customizable mouse and keyboard support, ultrawide support, FOV customization, and more. Experience the second chapter in the Halo saga and fight your way as the Master Chief through 10 unforgettable missions. Toggle between the remastered graphics in the Anniversary edition and the graphics from the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign. Continue your Halo adventure with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary‘s iconic multiplayer featuring an updated progression system and over 19 unforgettable maps,” the game’s Steam page says.

So shortly but steadily, Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s PC version is expanding. We’d bet money on Microsoft doing an Xbox Series X version, too.
