The launch of the Fast & Furious game uncertain after the delay of its ninth movie

Fast & Furious – The coronavirus continues to shift dates and leave an uncertain future in all sectors of art.

The entertainment industry is being directly affected by the impact of the coronavirus. The isolation, the cancellation of events and meetings and the pause in consumption for a time, is causing the delay of numerous releases that had their date set for spring 2020, such as Fast & Furious Crossroads a week after the ninth instalment of the film saga.

A few days ago, Disney postponed the arrival in theatres of Mulan and the latest James Bond film, will have to wait until November and in the field of video games, delays and cancellations are not far behind. The most famous, the suppression of the E3 2020 or the change of format of the prestigious Bafta Game Awards.

Although Fast & Furious Crossroad is independent and does not continue the events of the films, the release dates were set according to a commercial strategy that has now been cancelled. A representative from Bandai Namco has stated that they are working closely with their partners at Universal and that the development of the title continues as planned.

For their part, Codemasters, in charge of shaping the adaptation, has recognized that the fate of Fast & Furious Crossroad is “uncertain” and that “in due course, an announcement will be made to confirm a new date after talks with the distributor”. It should be remembered that the video game from the creators of Project CARS was presented in 2019 by actors Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez.
