A Few Free Games To Spend Easter With

There are games to play, you just have to look for them – and now, you might have time for it.

Let’s start with the game that is not free yet, but it will be in a couple of days. Ubisoft has recently given away Child of Light or Rayman Legends on uPlay. Now, according to Niko Partners’ senior analyst Daniel Ahmad, their next freebie will be Assassin’s Creed II from April 14, featuring Ezio Auditore de Firenze. In case you missed this story, you can catch up, and its sequels, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations will both get massive discounts. All you need is an uPlay account to permanently add AC II to your account.

Two indie games can also be picked up for free – Sokpop Collective’s pixelated train simulator, Soko Loco can be found on itch.io. Scythe Dev Team’s PS1 horror-styled Happy’s Humble Burger Barn offers a fast food simulator, although… in an unusual twist.

The Epic Games Store has two big titles up for grabs, and the next two from Thursday will also be intriguing. The first game is Close to the Sun, a first-person mystery, where an investigative journalist named Rose gets trapped on Nikolas Tesla’s ship, the Helios. She is looking for her sister. The other game is from Frogwares, and it’s Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments, complete with six cases. These two games are available for free until April 16. You need an Epic Games account and the Epic Games Launcher. The next two games will be Wheels of Aurelia, an Italian tour from the 1970s, and Avalanche Software’s Just Cause 4 (where the series got a bit stale by that point).

So you have some variety, and if you’re not into these games, we’re sure you have a few titles in your PC, PlayStation 4 backlog that have been sitting on your account(s) for months.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
