The PS5 chip will enter its final phase of production shortly, according to sources close to the process

The core of the console would begin its last tests in a week, before beginning its production on a large scale.

The main chip of PlayStation 5 is close to completing tests and entering its final phase of production, according to sources close to the assembly line of the console. Chinese tech outlet DigiTimes says the PS5 AMD Zen 2 chip will begin its final tests next week to begin full-scale production this summer.

According to this means, the manufacturers hope to be able to start the production of the chip in June to begin its distribution throughout the entire assembly line, and thus guarantee a sufficient stock of the console for the premiere. Said production would increase every month, with a growth in the number of units until reaching the maximum of production in August.

Although the postponement of the PS5 event could raise some doubts about the dates of the console, the deadlines that the manufacturers manage indicate that PS5 will be ready for its launch at the end of the year, in the absence of knowing important details such as its price or the design you will have.

Jim Ryan, leader of PlayStation, recently spoke about this topic, who assured that the coronavirus has not affected the price or the dates of the console. Now it only remains for Sony to announce a new date for its June event, which they postponed in solidarity with the protests over the death of George Floyd.
