Sony Interactive Entertainment Santa Monica: Headhunting For Their Next Game

Since it’s been over two years since Sony Interactive Entertainment Santa Monica’s previous game, the PlayStation 4-exclusive God of War was released, it’s about time we’re hearing details about their next title.

TGP discovered that God of War’s dev team has two job listings. The first one is for a lead narrative designer.

„We are seeking a Lead Narrative Designer. If you love collaborating with talented developers to create defining games, join us as we embark on a new journey. The ideal candidate not only has deep knowledge of writing complex narratives for games but is capable of executing the narrative within the game through the intended player experience. This individual will be responsible for architecting and designing the narrative systems which realize the Game Directors’ vision,” the listing says.

The other job offering is for a lead writer. „The ideal candidate has a mastery of storytelling, and deeply understands the marriage between gameplay and narrative. This individual will be responsible for crafting powerful storylines, strong character arcs, and compelling dialogue while maintaining an equal focus on building and developing the writing team,” the description says. This job does require a ton of creativity, and we’re not going to doubt that.

Sony Interactive Entertainment Santa Monica’s next game hasn’t been announced yet, and we doubt that it would be confirmed on June 11, at PlayStation 5: The Future of Gaming, if the devs are looking for such people for their next title. It’s likely going to be “God of War 2″, as the somewhat secret ending of the first game has strongly hinted at the continuation of the story.

It’s almost impossible that the studio is developing a brand new IP. However, we might be eating the humble pie if we get proven wrong.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
