Resident Evil 4 Remake: Expanded Story, Different Gameplay?

The unannounced Resident Evil 4 Remake got a few details unveiled by a reliable insider.

AestheticGamer has been in the news when we talked about either the announced Resident Evil: Village (= Resident Evil 8) or the to-be-announced PlayStation 5-exclusive Silent Hil soft reboot. Now let’s see what he wrote about the game, which is rumoured to be in development at M-Two, on Twitter:

„I know more than most on Resident Evil 4 Remake right now, but there’s a lot I don’t know at this point, and the things I do know mostly are best to be seen than talked about literally a year or so before the game’s announcement. I keep saying this but I’ll repeat myself, Resident Evil 4 Remake leaked too soon even if with Resident Evil 8 I think some would get suspicious. The story is an area they’re focusing on expanding greatly – I guess the one random thing I can toss out there as an example is, have you ever thought about what Dr Salvador’s deal in Resident Evil 4 was? No? Well, prepare to be intrigued,” he wrote. Dr Salvador happens to be the chainsaw-wielding Ganado that you run into early on in the game. Yes, that character.

„Last question and then I’m not answering anything more for a few months. Now is not the time to talk about the game, as much can still change anyways. Resident Evil 4 – back when it came out [in 2005] – revolutionized the series and the gaming landscape as a whole. Making it play just like Resident Evil 2 & Resident Evil 3 Remake or even like the original wouldn’t achieve what the original Resident Evil 4 accomplished. That’s all I’m going to say, be ready to sit on this one for like a year until the reveal,” he added.

Resident Evil 4 Remake got approved by Shinji Mikami (the director of the original, as well as the first game in the series), but if the announcement is this far away, then we’ll likely see it announced at E3 2021, and then, it’s possibly going to launch in early 2022 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Let’s hope that we’ll hear fewer Ashley screams in Leon’s European tour than in the original. (If you played it, then you can already hear them in your head: LEEEEEEEEEON! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!)
