Marvel’s Avengers: Paid Premium Content

In the future, if we activate a Hero Challenge Card in Marvel’s Avengers, we will certainly have to reach into our wallet for it.

Next week Marvel fans will finally be able to enjoy the new Crystal Dynamics game. Marvel’s Avengers is coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One and Google Stadia on September 4th and Square Enix has explained, through the game’s official site, how the in-game store will work, what we can get playing or what can be bought with real money, something important for future players.

Square Enix has commented that the playable characters that come to the game, such as Hawkeye, which will be the first, will do so for free. According to the Japanese company, with this move, they will avoid “content blocking” and will guarantee that we can experience with our friends the new adventures that are added to the game.

Hawkeye will arrive with “new story missions that can be played co-op or solo; it will also bring a new villain with it.” In addition, Square Enix has also made it clear that each playable character you add will come with “custom combos and moves, abilities, equipment, heroics, a variety of unlockable outfits, expressions and badges.”

In the game, there will be some NPCs that will sell us resources and cosmetics that rotate permanently. We can only buy these with money that we have won playing (this currency is called “units”). The Japanese have stated that they are committed to “content that can be purchased for real money in Marvel’s Avengers is cosmetic only, which will ensure that we can keep the game up-to-date for years to come.”

But, Square Enix has introduced a currency that can only be purchased with real money called “credits. ” Marvel’s Avengers, which will have a major update on the day of departure, will have a marketplace where players can purchase other cosmetics, but only with those credits. A package of 500 credits costs 5 dollars (it remains to be seen if it will be 5 euros at the change). The credits come in packages of 500, 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000, with the bigger additional credits is the package.

But the thing is not there with purchases with real money. The in-game store will also have “Hero Challenge Cards,” which “allow players to earn resources, units, credits, and cosmetic items by completing in-game challenges.” Each card has 40 categories of free and premium rewards, but to be able to access the premium ones you will have to pay 1,000 credits ($ 10). At that time we can win everything that the card carries. Cards are not rotated or withdrawn, and there will be no time limit.

According to Square Enix, by completing the challenges completely, the player will not only have recovered the 1,000 credits of the activation cost, but the content won “will have a value equivalent to 12,500”. By the way, the Japanese company has announced that it has activated the premium rewards of the initial six heroes cards for the launch, so the rewards can be obtained without having to pay those 1,000 credits, although it seems that it will be for a limited time. We will see if the Japanese keep the promise of releasing powerful content on a regular basis.
