Cronos: Lazarus: Has One of Bloober Team’s Secret Projects Been Leaked?

The Polish developers have every right to be annoyed because it seems they want to develop a franchise around Cronos over time.

Will it be a new title in the sci-fi survival horror series or an expansion? We may find out at one of the many presentations taking place in the coming weeks. Do you remember when Bloober Team teased the audience with a mysterious announcement about Cronos: The New Dawn, which also featured Door 28 from LZRS? It may end up being a new game rather than DLC or an expansion, and it will be called Cronos: Lazarus.

According to “Necro” Felipe from Universo Nintendo, this is part of an event organized by Jike, a Chinese social media app. Further details are not yet known, but an official global announcement is expected in the coming weeks, with State of Play and Summer Game Fest approaching. Is this a sequel? Bloober Team has stated that they have no such plans and that they are currently developing several other projects, ranging from Project M for the Nintendo Switch 2 to Layers of Fear 3. Beyond that, they are also developing the Silent Hill 1 Remake in collaboration with Konami, following the success of the Silent Hill 2 Remake.

It is more likely to be an expansion or standalone game that continues the base game’s story, though Bloober Team does not usually offer replay modes or extras. Time will tell. Additionally, IGN listed what we can expect during IGN Live. Earlier, the game’s logo was leaked. A Polish investment firm, Strefa Investorów, also reported that Bloober Team is preparing an AAA project for Summer Game Fest.

Cronos: The New Dawn has been released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. As of October, it had sold half a million copies. Since then, a demo and a free update have been released. The update added an easier Temporal Diver difficulty level for players who found the game too challenging.
